Owner/Lash & Permanent Makeup Artist

Mandy has been at A Touch of Plasch all of her life. Some of the clients even remember the day she was born! As the daughter of Harvey and Terry, she has been part of this industry since she can remember.
After 25 years behind the desk, Mandy decided it was time for something new. She earned her lash technician license in 2019, and then her body art license in 2021. After her apprenticeship ended in October of 2022, Mandy took on a full-time business of eyelash extensions and permanent makeup here at the salon with us. Her business is aptly called TOP Microblading and Lash. Mandy really has an eye for creating beautiful brows that suit each individual client and her lash clients keep coming back for those perfect lashes every time. Hair Stylist/Former Owner

Harvey has been a hairdresser for over five decades. After graduation from beauty school in 1970, he started working at this very salon. In 1972, Harvey bought the salon and joined the National Cosmetology Association (NCA). He also taught for the Minnesota Hair Fashion Committee for over 15 years, and won numerous competitions and awards at that time throughout the country. 

He continues his education regularly to keep up on the latest trends and shares his experience with other staff members daily. On the occasion that he’s not working, Harvey can be found supporting his local community. He’s the former president of the MN Ballet Board. Harvey has built a reputation for himself and his salon with many years of hard work and consistently pleasing his clients. 

This isn’t just a job, it’s his passion and that shows in his work. He takes pride in what he does, whether in the salon or out in the community. He says you’ll still see him behind the chair when he is 100 years old.

Passionate Stylist & L'ANZA Artist

Alexandre has been behind the chair since 2009 and continues to fall more in love with his craft every year. A proud L'ANZA Artist who has used the brand  for over a decade, Alexandre is passionate about healthy, beautiful hair and helping clients discover styles that are both exciting and easy to manage at home.

Known for his creativity and education-focused approach, Alexandre empowers his clients by teaching them how to truly work with their hair. His commitment to ongoing growth, combined with a strong work ethic, means he's always striving to give his clients more. Whether it's a fresh new look, expert advice, or simply a listening ear.

Beyond the salon, Alexandre has been an active member of the local business community, including as a former member of the Duluth Area Professionals chapter of BNI Minnesota. Through these connections, he's built lasting relationships with other professionals and leaders throughout the Northland. Alexandre also is Perception Coaching certified. He uses that training to help his clients beyond their hair. 

But for Alexandre, it all comes back to the people in his chair.

"My clients are everything. The connection we build means the world to me. The laughs, the milestones, even the tough moments. I've stood beside people during new beginnings and walked with them through life's hardest chapters. Every appointment is unique, and I wouldn't trade a single one. As long as I can do this work, with my clients beside me, I'll be fulfilled."

Hair Stylist

Terry has been doing hair for over 50 years. In addition to being active in the salon she has also been an instructor at the beauty school and the Director of the MN Hair Fashion Committee. 

In 1972, Terry joined the NCA and later became President of the Duluth Chapter. She is no stranger to this industry and her years of experience have given her a lot of knowledge. 

Terry loves what she does and continues her training with classes two to three times a year. She focuses on cuts, colors and perms; her co-workers compliment her on her precise techniques. Terry prides herself on being a good listener and enjoys making every client look amazing.

Hair Stylist

Working with hair is more than just a job for Angel. It’s been a passion for many years. She always strives to make you look and feel your very best! Her goal is to make you feel the same sense of pride with your hairstyle that she felt creating it.

A graduate of Northwood Technical College (formerly WITC), Angel moved to Duluth from the Twin Cities in 2015. Her career with A Touch of Plasch began in 2019 and has given her the ability to showcase her many talents behind the chair. Sure, she can cut hair. Any age, any style, any challenge. Over and above this, Angel’s specialty lies in color. Specifically, fun fashion looks with vivid color. Want to make a bold statement? Look no further. But what sets her apart from other stylists is her attention to YOU. Her devotion shines through in her thorough consultations before every service. She wants you to be comfortable with every aspect of the process. And she never wants you to feel your needs are not heard. Her happiness comes from yours.

Outside of work, Angel lives with her partner Nik in their Morgan Park home. A passionate animal lover, she keeps what she lovingly calls a “mini zoo” comprised of 1 dog, 4 cats, and over 20 different reptiles. Her talent, and her heart shine through each and every day.

Hair Stylist

Michelle became a part of the Touch of Plasch crew in the summer of 2022. She's always loved the areas of art, fashion, and beauty. This seemed like the right career for her. Ever since starting her cosmetology journey in 2018 she has hit this industry running. She works hard every day to become the best stylist she can be for her community. She takes just about any continuing education class she can, whether it's learning the newest techniques or getting a refresher on the fundamentals. Her continuing education has taken her all over Minnesota including Minneapolis and St. Paul, parts of Wisconsin, and even New York City. "This is the type of career where you never stop learning. If there's a class, I'm taking it." When asked what her favorite thing to do is she answers with a little bit of everything. "I love alt artistic styles, like baby bangs, mullets, and color blocking as well as classic beautiful styles, like lived in highlights, a root touch, and long layers. It's the excitement I can find in both that makes me love what I do!" To Michelle cosmetology is an opportunity to create art every day. She really finds the connections she makes with her clients a special thing. "The clients are the job. Without them I wouldn't be here. The ones that love my work mean the world to me. Making them happy is not only the priority, but the best part."

Nail Artist, Lash Artist & Permanent Jeweler

Since joining the beauty industry at 20 years old, Olivia has built up quite the resume of services. From luscious lash extensions, to beautifully painted gel nails and extensions and precisely linked permanent jewelry, she's your girl! She is adamant about continuing education and is always eager to learn a new skill. The beauty industry is constantly changing, so she loves to keep up with the latest trends and styles. 

When she's not in the salon, you'll find her spending time with her loved ones or playing outside with her pup!

Hair Stylist

 After considering many different career paths, Lexi found her calling in cosmetology. She graduated from Northwood Technical College in December 2024 and jumped straight into the industry, combining technical skill with a love for creativity and self-expression. A few months later, she joined A Touch of Plasch for its welcoming environment and strong sense of community.
Lexi brings confidence and care to every service, especially when it comes to short cuts, vivid colors, and textured hair. From years of cutting friends’ and family’s hair, she’s developed a sharp eye for detail and a passion for learning. She was lucky enough to experience the Chicago Hair Show and learn from some of the best. She’s currently expanding her expertise in curly and wavy hair, with a goal of helping clients understand their texture, product choices, and the why behind what works.
A true artist at heart, Lexi loves working with bright colors and bold patterns; and she’s had just about every shade in her own hair. Now, she’s excited to create custom, high-detail color work that empowers others to express themselves confidently and comfortably.
